12-year-old girl struck by sex toy at WNBA game in Brooklyn; suspect sought by NYPD

A man who allegedly tossed a sex item during a WNBA game and struck a little girl in attendance is still wanted by New York police on Monday, according to an official.

A picture and a brief video clip of a man sporting an Ohio State cap and a “Beavis and Butthead” T-shirt during Tuesday’s New York Liberty vs. Dallas Wings game at Barclays Center in Brooklyn were made public by the NYPD on Friday.

Police say that at approximately 8:45 p.m. ET on Tuesday, “an unidentified individual threw an object which struck a 12-year-old female victim in the right leg” “inside 620 Atlantic Avenue, NYPD 78 Precinct.”

According to authorities, the search was still ongoing on Monday.

When a sex toy fell to the ground during a Golden State Valkyries game versus the Atlanta Dream in College Park, Georgia, on July 29, it seemed like the fad had begun.

In relation to the events in Georgia and Phoenix, two men have been taken into custody thus far.

“Everyone’s safety in our arenas is still our top priority,” a WNBA representative stated.

“We are pursuing all appropriate measures, including arrest and, if necessary, prosecution on felony charges against anyone engaging in this conduct or otherwise involved in sponsoring this inappropriate and hazardous behavior, in close coordination with local and federal law enforcement.
