18-year-old and 72-year-old killed in crash on Poway road

A two-vehicle crash in the Sabre Springs area on Friday left a 72-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman fatally injured.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Friday when a woman riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Poway Road through the intersection at Sabre Springs Parkway collided with the driver’s side door of a man operating a Mitsubishi Montero SUV.

According to the police, at the time of the collision, the guy was facing a green arrow and the woman was facing a red signal. It was unclear how fast the motorcycle was moving.

According to the department, she was pronounced dead at the spot, and the guy was brought to a hospital, where he passed away soon after. Their identities were not made public right away.
