According to authorities, two passengers on the American Carnival Cruise Line perished in separate events in the Bahamas on Friday.
A 79-year-old male and a 74-year-old lady were named as the victims.

One fatality drowned at Celebration Key, a private location for Carnival visitors on the south side of Grand Bahama, while the other drowned near the beach, according to a statement from Carnival. It has restaurants, a beach club, lagoons, and a water park.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force reported that they were alerted to the first drowning shortly before noon. On a commercial ship, the officers discovered a 79-year-old man who was not responding.
Police told NBC News in a statement that the individual went unconscious while snorkeling on a beach, according to the first story. He was pulled from the water by a lifeguard, and CPR was tried without success.
According to authorities, a doctor declared the man deceased.
On another commercial vessel, cops discovered a 74-year-old lady who was not responding shortly after 2:30 p.m.
According to an early report, the woman lost consciousness while swimming in a pool, according to authorities. She was declared dead when a lifeguard who helped her out of the water failed to perform CPR on her.
According to officials, both victims will undergo autopsies to help identify the precise cause of death. In both cases, the investigation is still ongoing.
Neither victim was identified by Carnival or the police.
