A North County man is lucky to be alive after a domestic violence incident unfolded at his mobile home in Fallbrook early on Monday.
Sometime after midnight, Devin Jones, 44, was arguing with her boyfriend when she allegedly took a knife and held it to his throat, verbally threatening him as well. The victim managed to disarm Jones without being injured, according to investigators, and he left the trailer, which is in the 100 block of Avo Drive.

While he was walking away, Jones got ahold of a rifle and fired out the window, deputies said, hitting him in the head.
Fortunately for the man, the bullet only grazed him; the doctor who treated him at a local ER said the shot “could have been fatal if the bullet had deviated slightly,” deputies said on Monday.

Jones barricaded herself inside the trailer after the shooting, according to the sheriff’s department, but surrendered around 5:30 a.m.
Deputies said she will face attempted murder and other charges when she appears in court in North County on Wednesday afternoon.
