SAN DIEGO The San Diego military community has a rich history and a rich military legacy. Currently, a small percentage of uniformed military personnel face the realization that they are no longer able to represent the nation and that their future is uncertain.
According to their website, more over 100,000 active military personnel are stationed in the city of San Diego, with about half of them located at the base of the Infantes de Marina de Camp Pendleton.This is where Sye Savoie is currently located. However, it was much earlier when Savoie decided she wanted to be a marina baby and grew up in a cat-loving community in Atlanta.
“Many members of my community were marina infants. “There were individuals who belonged to the church or who appeared at municipal elections and were revered by the populace,” Savoie said. The indemnification for separation and involuntary service would be approximately $62,000 for an O-3 with seven years of service.
