Air Canada begins cancelling flights ahead of possible flight attendant strike
Around 700 daily flights were suspended, and about 100,000 passengers were forced to find other options or remain put as the strike disrupted travel plans all across the world during the height of summer.
“Air Canada expects it will take several days before its operations return to normal,” the airline stated in a statement released early Sunday. “Restart of operations will begin immediately, with first flights this evening,” the statement read. Over the course of the following seven to ten days, certain flights will be canceled in order to stabilize the schedule. Air Canada sincerely apologizes for any difficulty caused to its patrons.
