Recently, Austin Butler had a medical nightmare.

With NBC 7, you can watch San Diego News for free, anywhere, at any time.

During the filming of 2023’s “The Bikeriders,” the “Elvis” star revealed that he lost his vision after being startled awake by a severe migraine while flying.

Butler claims that after going blind for a few minutes, he willed his sight back and it gradually came back in Men’s Health’s September/October edition. The 31-year-old, who also flaunted his amazing abs for the magazine, didn’t really give it any thought. He went back to work the following day and assumed that the occurrence was the result of sleep deprivation.

Butler also revealed that after wrapping up filming on the Oscar-nominated “Elvis,” he woke up with severe pain akin to appendicitis and had to be admitted to the hospital, proving that it wasn’t just his eyesight that was failing.

In addition to the hospitalization and blindness, the former “Masters of Air” star experienced an excruciating foot ache while on the press tour for “Dune: Part Two.” He clarified that in order to prevent further agony, he truly walked for eight months with his toes curled. The offender? Butler shared a piece of glass that was around the size of a rice grain.

Fortunately, Butler has discovered that the health scares have decreased when he puts less pressure on himself to concentrate on his craft. And with a little assistance from Laura Dern, he was able to accomplish it.

He informed the source about his first encounter with her, saying, “It was like the whole room just quieted and we connected on a soul level.” We had a sense of kinship.

Butler learned that playing a more sinister character doesn’t have to have such a lasting impact on his life from the “Jurassic Park” actress, who he claimed looked like his mother Lori Butler, who passed away from cancer in 2014.

She is increasingly assisting me in realizing that you can overcome this, he said, and that perhaps pieces of you have recovered, synthesized, and metabolized. In a sense, it can be healing.

And for Butler, who recently broke up with Kaia Gerber, putting it into practice has changed his life since he feels like he can enjoy his time off the set without worrying that it would affect his performance.

“You don’t have to destroy the light,” he clarified.
