Cal Fire There is a brush fire near Jacumba scorching Springs in San Diego that started because of the scorching weather in San Diego County.

Approximately 10 miles east of Jacumba Hot Springs, in Boulevard, firefighters were battling a fire near the U.S. Border Patrol substation station.
According to Cal Fire, the fire near Moonlit Trail and Roadrunner Lane is spreading at a moderate rate and poses an immediate structural danger.

Cal Fire stated that the fire was 5% contained at 88 acres around midday. Cal Fire reported that the forward rate of spread had been halted at 2:00 p.m.

A mile northeast of the Boulevard Border Patrol Station, the fire did not affect Border Patrol operations, the Border Patrol said NBC 7.
San Diego is experiencing a heatwave at the time the fire erupted. Boulevard, which is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. on Friday, reported 93 degrees at lunchtime.
San Diego has a higher risk of fire even though there are no Santa Ana winds. Residents are being advised by Cal Fire San Diego to use caution while it’s hot outside.
