As you prepare for this year’s Annual Lemon Festival, start looking for your yellow dresses and blouses! The Downtown Chula Vista Association will turn Third Avenue in Downtown Chula Vista into a lemon-filled haven on Saturday, August 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be two stages of live music, picture setups, a lemon cook-off competition, arts and crafts merchants, and a family-friendly kid’s area in addition to the numerous nibbles and drinks with a lemon theme.
now though urban development has now supplanted the majority of the lemon orchards, local businesses and events continue to honor Chula Vista’s lemon-filled heritage, and some trees are now budding in residents’ lawns! An incredible opportunity to honor and commemorate the community’s agricultural past is through the yearly Lemon Festival.
