On Tuesday, authorities asked the public for help in identifying and tracking down the individual who shot and killed a 31-year-old man in 2006.
According to the San Diego Police Department, Andre Mahan was shot and killed inside an apartment in the 4600 block of Nogal Street in San Diego around 2:30 a.m. on August 19, 2006.

According to the police, the suspect entered the apartment, shot at Mahan’s wife, who was unharmed, and murdered him. Her identity was kept a secret.
A male between the ages of 17 and 18 was characterized as the shooter. He had on a black cap made of a material similar to pantyhose and a red T-shirt over a white one.
Police had been searching for the murderer for almost 20 years, although it was unclear what led to the shooting.
Mahan’s wife and two small children survived him.
