According to James Dolan, CEO of Sphere Entertainment, “our standard on this was not to modify the film at all, but to try and bring you into [it] as if you were in the studio when it was shot,” with CBS Sunday Morning.

According to CBS, Glenn Derry, executive vice president of MSG Ventures and a visual effects artist, is in charge of the 4D effects, which include motion, wind, water, and aroma, to give viewers the impression that they are in Oz. In order to replicate the tornadoes in the film, Derry told CBS Sunday Morning that his crew employed technology to create wind and fog effects.

Public access to “The Wizard of Oz” experience begins on August 28.
