Law enforcement searches property of missing Valley Center woman

Investigators trying to determine the whereabouts of a missing 65-year-old Valley Center woman searched her rural northern San Diego-area home and property Wednesday.

Deputies served a search warrant at the home of Nadine Jett in the 14800 block of Oak Creek Road at about 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives decided to carry out the investigative effort “after receiving information related to an ongoing investigation,” Sheriff’s Lt. Juan Marquez said. He did not elaborate.

Video posted to social media

by the Valley Roadrunner, a weekly newspaper published in Valley Center, showed multiple vehicles entering Jett’s roughly 20-acre residential property early on Wednesday, with searchers seen combing the grounds nearby later in the day.

Sheriff’s officials did not disclose how long Jett is believed to have been missing. A neighbor of hers, however, stated in

a letter to the Roadrunner’s editor

that Jett had disappeared in December 2023.

Recently, the neighbor wrote, squatters have been living on Jett’s property, trashing it and getting into disturbances that have prompted visits by sheriff’s deputies.
