SAN DIEGO—The Metropolitan Transportation System of San Diego (MTS) was dissolved on Thursday in response to a civil demand made by a former employee accusing MTS of dumping it due to sexual assault allegations made against the former county supervisor and MTS president, Nathan Fletcher.
Judge Matthew Braner of the San Diego Superior Court accepts the summarily sentence that MTS submitted in response to the demand made by former public relations specialist Grecia Figueroa. This results in the devaluation of all demands made against MTS, including those pertaining to sexual assault, gender discrimination, and repression.

On the fourth, Braner confirmed a provisional written resolution that had been issued the day before, stating that “MTS has presented pruebas de que el despido de la demandante se bas en problemas de rendimiento leg timos y documentados” and nothing to do with Fletcher.

Additionally, Braner agreed with MTS’s claims that Fletcher had no role in Figueroa’s death and that, as a member of the MTS administrative council, he lacked the authority to do so.
Similar findings were included in an independent investigation published by MTS earlier this year, which said that the director general of MTS is responsible for decisions pertaining to personnel, including as contracts and terminations.
Francis Flynn, one of the attorneys representing Figueroa, did not agree and stated during the Viernes hearing that there were discrepancies in Figueroa’s performance evaluations prior to the date of his dismissal because some of them claimed that he had met the expectations of his position.
Flynn also made the point that Figueroa’s complaint had been accepted by Fletcher during the time MTS was in use, but MTS countered that the complaints had not been made until after their dismissal.
Stephen Whitburn, the president of the MTS junta directiva and the city of San Diego’s council, stated in a statement released hours after the hearing: “From the beginning of this case, our junta is committed to conducting an independent investigation and revision of the matter. We are pleased to see that the tribunal has agreed to dismiss the charges against MTS.
Sharon Cooney, the executive director of MTS, states: “We are pleased to have received the positive sentence for MTS today. Now that we have resolved this case, we remain focused on our primary goal of providing our region with safe and reliable public transportation.
Fletcher remains charged in the case, whose verdict is expected to be rendered within the next month.
Despite acknowledging his relationship with Figueroa, he has stated that all of their interactions were mutually consenting.
Figueroa was dismissed from his position with the media on the same day that Fletcher announced his candidacy for the state Senate. Less than two months after announcing his candidacy, Fletcher ended his campaign, claiming he would seek treatment for alcohol abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Figueroa’s insistence on being on time caused Fletcher of the Condado and MTS Supervisory Councils to become irate.
The legal team for Fletcher has filed a defamation case against Figueroa and published a series of messages between the two parties that abarcan m s of an an o and that, according to them, demonstrate that there is a mutually agreeable relationship.
