According to the New York Police Department, at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, officers arrived to the scene of an incident that was taking place in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. A 33-year-old female was seen with minor leg and neck injuries.

According to authorities, Mingus Reedus was arrested and she was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

In an interview with NBC News on Sunday, Priya Chaudhry, the lawyer for Mingus Reedus, maintained that the case’s facts will establish her client’s innocence.

Chaudhry stated that they decided to prosecute Mingus with misdemeanors or less in spite of the prosecutor’s statements made in court, which are not proof. This is far more powerful than the prosecutor’s unsubstantiated in-court remarks.

She added that Mingus Reedus was freed by the judge without supervision or bond, on his own recognizance.
