Starry times will shine at ‘SkyFest,’ a new dark sky party in Big Bear

Published On:

To put it simply, BIG BEAR is familiar with lenses, binoculars, telescopes, and any other tool that allows you to gaze at the sky in great distances. In actuality, the forested wonderland is a location that is firmly associated with amazing environment, drawing hordes of wild-life enthusiasts to witness bald eagles soar. And when those fans walk into the nearby woodlands, they typically carry binocs and spotting scopes. The goal of these animal enthusiasts is to see wildlife, or perhaps just the breathtaking scenery that surrounds the region.

When visiting the famous lake region, there are various ways to use a lens-centric gadget. One of these is, of course, to take in the cosmic sky that are frequently visible over Big Bear Valley. The region’s dark sky feature is the focus of a new event that aims to maximize these Milky Way wonders. Big Bear SkyFest will be dazzling on August 22 and 23. The oh-so-Big-Bear-y chance to enjoy a forest sound bath will be just as important as star-gazing parties. Be happy and filled with awe if you’ve always wished to stroll under the stars: night hikes are also planned.

A FEW LOCATIONS, including the Big Bear Discovery Center, Snow Summit, and Action Zipline, will take part in SkyFest, all right here on our home planet. The first day will feature a Beginner Astrophotography Workshop taught by Bending Light at Juniper Point, and the evening hikes will be held at Snow Summit, which seems even more akin to the sky. With an elevation of more than 6,700 feet, Big Bear is a prime location for lovers of the dark-sky-ish arts, whether they prefer taking ethereal photos or just taking in the fresh air and stars. Unless you wish to fly back to Alpha Centauri in your saucer, you should reserve your overnight or overnights before climbing the peak. If that’s the case, we’re quite envious and would love to accompany you.
